Our contribution to the wine business originates back to summer of 1988 when Marco Vella joined an upcoming sole firm in the Wines & Spirits sector. Eventually Marco started his own imports in February 1991. This was at the time when the world was encircled in the crisis of the first Gulf War and the local wine industry sector was going through its own turmoil.
In 1997 Marco joined a local Wines & Spirits Imports Company and passed his imports portfolio to this Company to strengthen its wine portfolio and started organising the sales division. He also started importing an array of prestigious brands mostly from Italy.
In June 2001 Marco was appointed Imports Manager with an established Food Company; with the task to launch a Wines & Spirits Division within the line-up of this important Food Importation player. This endeavour lasted almost twelve years and was of notable market success. Newly established wine brands became household names. Such an accomplishment was possible through full dedication and attention to the minimalistic detail for both the selection of wines that were to be imported, to their market positioning, and brand building. The result marked the sector of wine importation by the presence of new brands that were established in Restaurants, Wine Bars and Hotels.
After twelve years at the helm of this Company, in January 2013 Marco Vella partnered with his wife Michelle Vella Gobey to establish the Family Business with the newly formed Company, starting its operations on the 25th anniversary since Marco’s first steps in the sector back in June 1988.

Our Company represents some thirty producers and is driven by the determination of maintaining a strong portfolio of local and international dynamic brands. To manage this enterprise the Company chose to host the business in a typical Maltese Town House; at the village core of the historic De Rohan City of Haz-Zebbug. The house incorporates tasting rooms, an exclusive Wine Boutique selling to private customers and is intended to expose and promote the world’s heritage of viticulture and the historical appreciation of wine.
